The Audio Project provides a full range of location recording packages aimed at both classical and popular music industries. Our experience and expertise enables us to seamlessly move from audio capture for opera to main-stage at a festival.
With any live project, we aim to capture a true representation of the performance whilst maintaining the highest audio quality. Ideally we will be involved from the projects inception all the way through to the mastering to ensure that your creative ideas are realised.
We record most live concerts to a multitrack enabling a greater degree of flexibility during the editing stage. It is not uncommon to re-record sections of a performance at a later date if it is to be released.
Most clients only require a stereo recording but our team has experience producing surround sound concert recordings and we have even recorded some concerts in an ambisonic format. Depending on the venue, the amount of rig time tends to increase for surround capture but the results can be well worth it however, please note that there is little advantage to a surround recording if the venue acoustics are poor – we are happy to advise as required.
Performances we have captured have been used for archive, CD release, promotional media and live streaming. We have an experienced audio team who are always happy to discuss our methodology and options with clients before any project is confirmed.
Editing and Mastering
The recording session is one of the most important parts of any music release. Our team will be with you every step of the way both before, during and after the session. Preparation is key to any session so for the inception of the project, our team will work with you discussing artistic goals for the recording, preparing scores for the production team, sourcing a venue/studio, planning the sessions, producing the sessions and post production.
We have produced session recordings with choirs, orchestras, soloists and small ensembles in a variety of styles.

Music demos can be used for competitions, applications or general promotional purposes. Demo recordings take less time to produce and are usually cheaper than a full commercial release so are often ideal if you only wish to record a couple of tracks. We treat demos with the same high quality approach as we would with any session to ensure the recording shows an artist off.
Our comprehensive audio services provide all the necessary personnel for any audio production. From initial score preparation to mastering, every care is taken to ensure clarity of musical intent and to maintain the highest audio quality. Audio can be delivered in a range of formats, including stereo, surround sound and a variety of sample rates (up to 192 kHz).
